In 2017, the Danish group Dansk Naturgas A/S (founded in 1972 to manage oil and gas resources in the Danish North Sea) changed its name to Ørsted (in honour of Hans Christian Ørsted ) and changed its face: it built the first offshore wind farm (Vindeby ) and divested/sold its oil and gas business to Ineos (uk).
